by CD Mohatta

Blackheads and Whiteheads are known as the first stage of acne.If acne is treated during the first stage itself, you save a lot of effort that you may have to take if acne develops to the second and third stage. You also prevent scar formation.
Blackheads and whiteheads are commonly termed as mild acne. Some papules may be present along with blackheads and whiteheads in acne classified as mild acne. Most of the people with mild acne treat themselves with OTC medicines. Let us find out about what is best to treat Blackheads and Whiteheads.
Topical medication for Blackheads and Whiteheads -
Blackheads and whiteheads are treated with topical medication that include Benzoyl peroxide, Salicylic Acid, Resorcinol and Sulphur, Alcohol and Acetone, Azelaic Acid, and Topical Retinoids.
Most of these medications may cause dryness, redness or peeling of the skin in the beginning of treatment. If you have dry skin, you may want to use a moisturizer .The skin takes some time to adjust to the acne medications. If irritation persists, you should consult your doctor.
Please note that acne medication takes time to clear acne and you must be patient while treating acne. Some people keep changing their medication after a week or so if they do not see any result. That does not produce results, but may also flare up acne. Wait for at least a month and if you don't get results after that, you should consult your doctor about change in medication.
Physical Procedures to treat Blackheads and Whiteheads-
